Right Answers Don't Equate to a Right Relationship

Often times, I wonder if there is a greater opportunity somewhere to spread the gospel. Daily I'm surrounded by people who claim salvation and already know about God and his plan for redemption. It's not like I can share Christ with my lost co-workers because, in the ministry, a personal relationship with Him is a job requirement. We tell our students and their parents daily about God and his goodness. Most of them claim salvation, so I wondered, is there somewhere else God can use me so I can be more effective in sharing the message of salvation to those who need it? Several days ago, my daily Bible reading brought me to Mark 12:28-34. Here Jesus is answering a group of Sadducees who are adamantly trying to trap Him with His words. Jesus admonishes them to uphold God as their first love and to love their neighbors. These, He says are the greatest commandments. Then one scribe acknowledges Jesus' superior answer by reiterating Christ's words, directly correlating th...

"America the Brave... Takes Righteous Stands"

So the other day a "friend" on Facebook wrote the following: "America the Brave... still fears what it doesn't yet know." This quote was written in regards to "marriage equality." The young lady who posted this comment was raised in a conservative home where the parents, at one point, attended an independent Baptist church that taught Bible truths. Needless to say, that after years of public education and secular college courses, most of her conservatism has been taught out of her. As a believer of God's Word...I find this young lady's statement to be a foolish one that shows her blind acceptance to the world's philosophies. She clearly has refused the truth of God's Word and opinion has usurped biblical wisdom in this matter of "marriage equality." She, of course, would probably argue that the conservative right is far too narrow-minded and that we are intolerant of the LGBT movement. Can I just say....the portion of...

God's Word - The Moral Compass

A few weeks ago, I was out in my garage organizing a bunch of unwanted items for a garage sale. To kill the silence, I turned on the radio. One of my favorite things to listen to is talk radio, usually on the AM dial. I also like listening to Crosstalk on CleanAirFM, which is what I tuned in to that day. The topic of the discussion that day entailed a photography company being tried in a discrimination case involving their refusal to provide services to a homosexual couple. The photography company clearly stated they reserved the right to withhold services at anytime if the event or business opportunity violated their religiously held beliefs. This is a stipulation many businesses, especially Christian businesses, adopt to protect themselves and their moral standards. The host of the show laid the groundwork for discussion by siding with the photography company saying that it was their right to withhold services and that it was wrong for the courts to proceed with discrimination charge...
