Right Answers Don't Equate to a Right Relationship

Often times, I wonder if there is a greater opportunity somewhere to spread the gospel. Daily I'm surrounded by people who claim salvation and already know about God and his plan for redemption. It's not like I can share Christ with my lost co-workers because, in the ministry, a personal relationship with Him is a job requirement. We tell our students and their parents daily about God and his goodness. Most of them claim salvation, so I wondered, is there somewhere else God can use me so I can be more effective in sharing the message of salvation to those who need it? Several days ago, my daily Bible reading brought me to Mark 12:28-34. Here Jesus is answering a group of Sadducees who are adamantly trying to trap Him with His words. Say "Merry Christmas" and Mean It!

  So much is being made of using the phrase “Happy Holidays” instead of “Merry Christmas” nowadays. Apparently, doing the latter may be offensive to those who do not share the sentiments of the traditional Christmas story. You know… the one that celebrates the birth of “Christ” – thus “Christ”mas! In today’s politically correct society, people may overreact to what you say. Just remember that your 1st Amendment right allows you to express your faith and doctrine openly! The liberal agenda attempts to use the establishment clause in this amendment as a way to squelch your freedom of speech through the guise of political correctness, but do not succumb to that line of thinking. Your freedom, as granted in the bill of rights, allows you to openly express faith-based expressions like “Merry Christmas” just as the atheist and agnostic crowd has the right to wish others “Happy Holidays.”  You see, the atheist and agnostic choose to say “Happy Holidays” because they are unbelievi...
